"It's your mat...its your life..if you love it...it will love you right back"- Mr. Kindness

Let no one ever come to you without leaving better and happier. Be the living expression of God's kindness: kindness in your face, kindness in your eyes, kindness in your smile.
 Mother Teresa

@-------------&----

Hey You...
Do all you can do for yourself FIRST… THEN take the responsibility of being the utmost best person to other people. Take care of your passion, health and so forth and then you will be able to be the utmost kindest and compassionate person. If you lack the self-respect or the kindness to yourself then you will only use your energy to feed to a repetitive and frustrating cycle that will continuously show you that you have to start with YOU first. Pay attention, please. I keep seeing you miss the fact I keep trying to tell you that you have to be KIND to yourself first…. And then watch….

Magic Happens.

Best,
Mr. Kindness

Bootylicious.

So..let me start off by saying that I am no expert at all on fitness and I am open to any suggestions or comments~ I have been obsessed with working out since I was a little girl and ran cross-country etc. I used to go to the gym 3-4 times a week etc. I met Alan when I was working at Palm Beach Tan and BAM. There is NOTHING like having a trainer to teach you how to eat right, be accountable to and to always be doing exercises that trick and challenge your body. I highly recommend the investment. It can be $$ but think how much you spend on going out to eat, buying that new shirt, Starbucks at coffee etc. Skipping out on Starbucks for 2 weeks and saving the money allows you 1-2 sessions with a trainer. Just food for thought...

I slowly started to change my diet a few years ago when I trained with Alan. It has been a very slow process and how I wish that I could just wiggle my nose and BAM I would have the results that I want. Alan always says...."It took you 29 years to get where you are today so imagine how much work you have to put into get where you want to be. You are undoing years of habits".

I have been going to Alan on and off for 3 years now. I have been going to him consistently since April of last year and started off with 2 times a week and then bumped it up to 3 times a week. He had me cut out beer about 3 years ago and few other things. Again, its a slow process of getting used to. He asked me a few months ago to try this 30 day challenge. I thought he was cra cra. Ha! He said no dairy, bread, potatoes or fruit for 30 days.

It took about 2-3 weeks till I got over the first big hump. I did alot of research because I could not eat anything that was in my fridge. I found a ton of recipes from blogs online and also went to Barnes and Noble and wrote down recipes. I started off with the 30 days and once I got off it I saw that I felt better following the diet so I continued to not eat grains and so forth. I have posted random pictures of things that I have made. I think you can still be on the go 24/7 and still eat healthy!!!!

intenyyo. Zweck. intento. intenzione. intention.

The guy on the left above is me the past few weeks. Pffft.

Intention.

The past weeks I have been dealing with trying to balance work and ALL the things outside of work. I made a list of ALL the things on my to do list(s) and decided that there was no way I was going to accomplish these art projects, training sessions 3 times a week, quiet time with God, quiet time period, reading book for bible study, friendships, dog, saving money, traveling, blogging, modeling, church on Sunday, bible study, decorating apartment, making wedding invitations etc.  There are only so many hours in the week- pffffft.
I was texting with a girlfriend and she was giving me advice about work. She said
“you have to work smarter, not harder."----Kitty (Kathryn <3)

 BING! Light bulb went off…

I have decided that I cannot do everything and that I have to pick 5 things to put my focus on or you end up skimming the surface and not giving the best at your marriage/relationship with a guy you are dating/children/work/friendships/fitness goal and so forth. I painted this HUGE chalkboard on my wall in my bedroom and have these 5 things written on there (didn't paint it just for a big to do list to smack me in the face each morning...will use for drawing on..paintings etc.. hahah) for me to see and remind me whenever I see what I need to be focused on.

5 tools that are helping me get there.

1.  Books

§speaks about being more intentional with your prayer
§teaches you to pray for things outside of your "box"

5.   REST

© Enough said....

.........With all the tools and motivation in the world.. at the end of the day you have to give yourself GRACE..

Face it, own it and have faith.

So. It makes you uncomfortable. A little out of place. Knocks the air out of you a little. Yep- I know that feeling pretty well. What do you do?

Face it, own it and have faith.

Uncomfotable moments, pressure, people, fear, confrontation and the list goes on.. We all can relate to this. I really do believe that when something makes you feel uncomfortable, out of your comfort zone and you have a sense of fear about it that you should put a MAGNIFYING glass on it. Dig in and ask yourself why?

I think that the only way to grow of your box and to live your life to the fullest potential in all areas is to push boundaries mentally and emotionally. I think with prayer and reflecting on the real reason why you are fearful to move forward or face a certain awkward situation should be a "gift" and should been seen it as a motivator and not a hindrance.

Small/FUN exercise to challenge you to step out of your comfort zone- getting wild! ;)
Do one thing each week  that is different for your weekly routine. Go to a play, take improv classes, learn to cook a new dish, listen to a different station on Pandora that you normally wouldn't listen to, wear a color of clothing that you normally wouldn't wear, go grab a drink/coffee with someone you usually wouldn't hang out with, day trip etc. It is amazing how much this stimulates new ideas, gratitude and keeps you hungry for wanting to experience more.

It helps you grow out of your bubble.

Again.... if you ever feel a sense of doubt/fear/anxiety about a situation... own it, have faith and FACE IT

.it will keep coming back around till you do....

Gratitude Journal.

January 28, 2013

I wanted to start off my blog with something I TRY to start my day or end my day with- I bought this one at Barnes and Noble and write 3-5 things that I am grateful for that occurred the day before or occurred that day. You become much more aware of the positive things happening in your life when you do this rather than focusing on all the things that are "not going your way".

Entry for Today (talking about yesterday):
1. Timing (all things don't occur/occur the way I would like them to but if you trust in your faith you will see that everything is happening for a reason.

2. Chocolate (Cheat day yesterday)

3. Being yourself (no greater feeling then being yourself around someone or even honest/truthful with yourself)

4. Learning about new bands (appreciation for music/artists and expression)

Now what are you grateful for?
